Channels

UNIDEX UX18 has 18 channels:
  • 10 channels with 100 mm faders and 8 “virtual” channels that are operated from the touch screen or via remote web interface.
  • 4 channels can work as groups, to control virtual channel submixes from physical faders.
  • Each channel can be assigned to any input.
  • Channels are configured in three modes: MIC, LINE, or TELCO, which modifies their behavior and functions.
  • They can be assigned to four stereo mix buses: PGM, REC, AUX, and VBUS.

Inputs

The UX18 features 5 microphone inputs and 13 line inputs (analog and digital).
  • Microphone: 5 mono balanced With 48V phantom power, 4-band parametric equalizer, dynamic compressor, noise gate, and de-esser.
  • Line: 2 stereo balanced With 3-band parametric equalizer.
  • UNIDEX: 8 mono (4 stereo) Balanced inputs configurable as mono or stereo. Allow connection of UDX adapters (microphones, phone lines, mobile phones via Bluetooth, computers via USB). Include 3-band parametric equalizer, dynamic compressor, and noise gates.
  • USB: 4 stereo playback devices Compatible with ASIO 3.0. Include 3-band parametric equalizer.
  • AES3: 2 stereo digital inputs With 3-band parametric equalizer.
  • Incoming streaming Not an independent input; when activated, it replaces AES3 input #1.
  • External tuner Stereo input for transmission monitoring. It can also be assigned to channels to be used as a conventional input.

Outputs

There are 9 stereo outputs and monitoring outputs:
  • Program (PGM) Dual balanced analog stereo output.
  • 1 balanced stereo REC output
  • 4 unbalanced stereo outputs (assignable) Can be configured as up to 8 mono outputs. Include a mix-minus option for telephone and VoIP communications.
  • USB: 4 stereo recording devices
  • AES3: 2 digital outputs Two of them are assignable to any of the buses.
  • Dual PCM/MP3/OPUS streaming Simultaneous transmission via RTP and Icecast/Shoutcast.

Monitoring and Intercom

  • Monitoring outputs for the Studio (speakers and headphones).
  • Simplified connection for Studio monitoring with Solidyne StudioBox bays.
  • Monitoring outputs for the Control room (speakers and headphones).
  • Talkback to the Studio.
  • Selectable command microphone: internal (PZM) or external.
  • Reverse talkback: allows speaking from the Studio to the operator’s CUE (requires Studiobox HD3 or HD5).
  • CUE bus (Pre Fader Level) assignable to any output.

External Device Triggering

It features:
  • 2 GPI
  • 7 GPO of the open-collector type
They allow triggering:
  • Solidyne Audicom automation
  • Audio processors
  • Other devices with remote control
Activation is programmable (see the corresponding section).
