Using with Mobile Phones (Bluetooth)

To operate a phone on the console, it must be paired with the Bluetooth device TELCO.

Quick Reconnection

  1. Secure the TELCO fader to CUE (closed).
  2. Enable Bluetooth on the console: hold BLUETOOTH for approximately 5 seconds and release as soon as CELL PHONE lights up blue. The button continues to flash with a slow blink.
The Bluetooth module receives power from the USB-1 or USB-2 channels.
If neither is connected to a PC, use an external USB power source (a standard charger) with the supplied cable.
  1. Activate Bluetooth on the mobile phone → the pairing is restored.
  2. Incoming calls can be answered from the mobile phone or with BLUETOOTH on the console.

Incoming Call (Mobile Phone)

  • The phone rings in CUE (with TELCO fader closed). During the ring, the CELL PHONE button stops blinking and remains off.
  • Answer with short press on BLUETOOTH (or from the mobile phone screen).
  • Press the Bluetooth button to take audio from the mobile phone. It will blink red/pink.
  • Preview conversation: With fader in CUE, the call is heard through CUE.
  • Press TALK to speak. The button is latched. While active, only the talkback microphone signal will be sent to the phone. Press again when finished speaking.
  • HOLD: Move the fader to the HOLD zone, the caller hears the program but does not go on-air.
  • ON-AIR: Raise the fader to reach the appropriate level.
In conferences between mobile phone and land line (POTS)/VoIP, there may be some echo in the return from the remote journalist. It does not go on-air.

Ending the Communication

  • Short press BLUETOOTH on the console, or disconnect from the phone.

Return to Mobile

  • On the mobile phone: exit Headset/Bluetooth mode by switching to Speaker.
  • To return to the console: switch back to Headset mode (varies by phone model).

Make a call from mobile phone

  1. On the mobile phone, disconnect Bluetooth to speak directly from the phone.
  2. Establish the call.
  3. To transfer to console, switch to Bluetooth/Headset mode.
  4. With the fader in HOLD position, the mobile phone receives return audio from the console but does not go on-air.
  5. Raise the fader to put on-air.
  6. To end call: brief press of BLUETOOTH button or disconnect from the mobile phone.
The call can also be established without leaving Bluetooth mode on the mobile phone, with the fader in CUE position and using TALK to communicate from the console.
