Key Concepts

In operation, it is crucial to distinguish three distinct actions:
  • Enable/Disable Bluetooth on the mobile phone
Turn Bluetooth on or off on the phone. This does not imply pairing or connecting to a device.
  • Pair the mobile phone with a device
Also called pairing. The mobile phone registers an external device (headphones, car hands-free kit, or the MX2200’s Bluetooth channel). This is done only once per device.
A device can be unpaired, meaning it is deleted from the list of Bluetooth devices paired to the mobile phone. To use it again, it must be paired anew.
  • Connect/Disconnect a previously paired device
The mobile phone connects to one of the previously paired devices. This is different from pairing. With Bluetooth enabled on the mobile phone, you connect or disconnect from the list of paired devices.

BLT LED Status

The BLT button lights up in amber with different flashing patterns depending on the Bluetooth status:

Operation Notes

  • Mode A confirms that the mobile phone is paired correctly, ready to be used as an audio source or backup link.
  • Mode B can indicate two situations: that no mobile phone is connected yet, or that there is an active call.
  • Mode C should only be used when pairing a new phone.
  • Mode D acts as a clear incoming call notification, with a steady illumination.
Never confuse pairing (mode C) with connecting/disconnecting (mode A/B). Pairing is only performed once per phone, while connection/disconnection occurs each time it is used.

The interface may vary by system/version: some Android devices show a Headset/Speaker button, others a menu with options. Consult the phone’s manual.

Pairing a Mobile Phone with the MX2200

1

Prepare the Console

Ensure Bluetooth is off on the MX2200.
If the BLT button flashes slowly in amber (≈1 flash every 2 s), Bluetooth is on. Hold BLT until the LED turns off completely.
2

Enter Pairing Mode

With Bluetooth off, hold BLT for ~8 s.
You will first see slow flashes (mode B) and then a fast flash (mode C). Release the button when it changes to fast flash: the console is now in pairing mode and ready to be discovered.
3

Search from the Mobile Phone

On the phone, enable Bluetooth and search for new devices (the procedure varies by brand/model).
4

Select the Device

The device will appear as Solidyne BTM641. Select it to pair and then to connect if the system prompts twice.
5

Confirmation and Naming

After pairing, BLT will have a slow flash (Bluetooth active).
On the mobile phone, you can rename “Solidyne BTM641” from the device settings, if desired.
6

Multiple Phones and Distance

You can pair several phones with the MX2200, but only one can be connected at a time.
Typical range: up to 3 m. Keep the phone close, but never resting directly on the MX2200.

Reconnecting a previously paired mobile phone

The mobile phone may disconnect from the MX2200 in various situations. The following table indicates what happens and how to reconnect it:
Reconnection will not be possible if the same Bluetooth channel on the MX2200 was paired with another phone and that second phone is currently connected.

Volume Adjustment

On the mobile phone, set the Bluetooth volume to maximum to ensure good reception and the best signal-to-noise ratio.
Make the adjustment during a Bluetooth call. If you change the volume without an active call, you are adjusting the phone’s internal speaker volume and not the Bluetooth volume.
  • The Bluetooth level is stored on the mobile phone.
  • If you change phones, repeat the adjustment to set the Bluetooth volume to maximum.

Turn Off Bluetooth on the Console

To turn off Bluetooth on the MX2200, hold down BLT until the LED turns off.
If operating on battery and you will not use Bluetooth, keep it off to save power.

On-air Operation via Bluetooth

1

Console Preparation

In CELL PHONE, keep the LEVEL control closed and CUE/PGM in CUE (released).
2

Enable Bluetooth on the Console

Press and hold BLT for ~5 s until it remains illuminated with a slow flash (Bluetooth active).
3

Connect the Mobile Phone

Enable Bluetooth on the mobile phone. If it was already paired, the link is restored in a few seconds.
Before transferring the call to the console, verify that CUE/PGM is in CUE to prevent the call from going on-air at the moment of transfer.
1

Answer if Bluetooth is Off

If Bluetooth is off on the mobile phone, answer the call from the phone and then enable Bluetooth to transfer it to the console.
2

Answer if Bluetooth is Active

If Bluetooth is active, you can answer directly from the console with a short tap on BLT.
In this condition, the conversation takes place only through the console.
3

Call Transfer

Once transferred to the console, the mobile phone receives the PGM signal.
4

Private Talk

Press TALK in the CELL Phone zone and listen via CUE on the headphones.
5

Put to PGM

Change CUE/PGM to PGM and adjust the level to send the call to program.
6

End the Call

End with a short tap on BLT or by hanging up from the mobile phone.
7

Resume from the Phone

To return the call to the mobile phone, change the mode from “Headset/Bluetooth” to “Speaker” on the phone.
